Evaluating Websites-

What can the URL tell you?
- look for personal names following a title(~)
-Avoid personal pages
-Look for Educational(.edu), nonprofit(.org), commercial, government(.gov)
- investigate further

Scan the perimeter of the page and look for answers to the following-
Links that say, "About us", "philosophy", "background", "biography".
Last updated
form of conduct

Look for indicators of quality info-
-links off the site
- "additional sites", "related links"
- Links refuring to other documents
- footnotes, evidence of research

Does it all add up?
- Why was the page put on the web?
- inform, give facts, give data
-explain, persersuade
- Might it be irony, satire, or a parody
